Congregation Kol Shofar is proud to be home to the Southern Marin Jewish Community Preschool
Located on the uniquely beautiful Congregation Kol Shofar campus, the
Southern Marin Jewish Community Preschool is a vibrant program created
by the Early Childhood Education department of the Osher Marin JCC. It
is founded on the tradition of excellence in Jewish early childhood
education and enriched by spiritual environment of Congregation Kol
Shofar. Jewish values include concepts of respect, honoring others
The curriculum is built on the image of the child as a competent and
capable individual with the potential to construct his or her knowledge
about the world, and inspired by the educational practices of the
schools in Reggio Emilia, Italy. The program provides a sacred place of
intentionality where wonder and curiosity fill the environment; teachers
and children collaborate to explore big ideas and possibilities.
We reflect Jewish culture by organically integrating values, traditions,
and customs into the curriculum through music, language, literature
expressive arts, cooking, dance and play. The Southern Marin Jewish
Community Preschool creates opportunities for parents and teachers to
grow and learn about child development, parenting, and Jewish life as
part of a diverse and connected community.
Serving children ages 2-5, our preschool offers the following programs:
