Tu Bishvat 5770

B'nei Mitzvah students and parents joined with Rabbi Chai Levy and the Green Chavurah to celebrate Tu B'Shvat by planting native plants at the lagoon at Muir Beach. Part of a restoration project of the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy, the lagoon creates a habitat for the endangered Coho Salmon and threatened steelhead trout and other species of wildlife. We learned about the habitat restoration project and about Tu B'Shvat, we got muddy, planted 140 or so plants, and had a fun time, all with the ocean waves crashing in the background.
