Community

We embrace a shared responsibility to each other, and we make it a top priority to care for each other when in need. We celebrate together during holidays and simchahs. We acknowledge that we are an extended family with a multitude of views and life experiences and endeavor to foster a sense of belonging and tolerance for opinions that may differ from our own.

Shabbat

Open the doors to your heart and soul with prayer, reflection, and study. Rejoice as children join the congregation becoming B’nei Mitzvah. Sing along with our lay leaders and Cantor. Engage with friends and community members. Learn from the Rabbi or special guest through a dynamic sermon. Come home to the Kol Shofar family and celebrate the joy, meaning, peace, and enduring wisdom of our Jewish tradition.

Events

The Saturday night before Rosh Hashanah Jews around the world gather to align their hearts and minds, giving a visceral and imminent sense to our preparation for The High Holidays - Selichot. In addition to Cantor Naomi Weiss, we welcome guest musical participants Gary Appell, Judy Berger, and Barbara Schwartz to add their spirits and voices to the evening.

Tikkun Olam

We have a sacred duty to heal our world and help the stranger. We live in a time and place of staggering inequality. We embrace our responsibility as individuals and as a community to leave this place better than we found it. (Gemilut Hasadim, Tzedakah, Tikkun Olam)
