BIOS FOR BOARD NOMINEES:

Marion Bank
Marion and her husband Les are fairly recent (2020) transplants from Framingham, MA, where they lived for more than 50 years, raised their two sons and were active members of a conservative synagogue. Now they live in Corte Madera, in close proximity to one of their son’s family.

Marion is the daughter of Holocaust survivors who escaped Germany in 1939. At that time one of her parents’ only options was to get out of Europe on a ship. It was their fate to end up in Chile, where Marion was born and spent the first 15 years of her life.

As things became politically unstable in Chile in the early 1960’s, Marion’s parents found it necessary to emigrate again. This time they chose to come to the United States and to settle in New York City. There, Marion completed High School and also attended the City College of New York, from where she received degrees in Biology. She spent her entire professional career as an educator, teaching at both the high school and community college levels.

Since her retirement she continues to volunteer in the classroom as well as in her new community. Her hobbies include traveling, painting, reading, hiking and spending as much time outdoors as possible.

JEFF HALBRECHT
Jeff is an Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in Sports Medicine as well as the Founder of a Medical Device start-up, ZKR Orthopedics. Jeff has been a member of Kol Shofar for 18 years, where both of his children attended the Synagogue preschool and have had their Bar Mitzvahs (currently ages 15/17).   He has been active in the Jewish Community for many years having served as a Founding Member of JCHS and  Brandeis Marin, as well as serving on the Board of JCCSF . He is currently active in JCRC, AIPAC, and multiple other Jewish Organizations. Jeff was raised in a Modern Orthodox home, is a staunch Zionist and loves Basketball, biking and skiing.

JORDAN SALBERG
Jordan is an attorney specializing in financial services and capital markets. A native New Yorker, Jordan relocated with his family to the Bay Area in 2022 and immediately found community at Kol Shofar. Jordan lives in Mill Valley with his wife and three children. Both of his older children were part of the inaugural class at the Grove preschool and his oldest is now in Beit Binah. Jordan is an avid tennis player and die-hard Yankee fan.
